L3 MAS Awarded Five-Year Option to Its CC-150 Polaris Contract

MIRABEL, Quebec, December 6, 2018 – L3 MAS is proud to announce that a five-year contract option has been exercised by the Canadian government for L3 MAS to continue providing complete In-Service Support (ISS) services to the Department of National Defence (DND) CC-150 Polaris fleet.

The contract renewal, with a total potential value of $230 million, reflects L3 MAS’ commitment to Canada’s new Sustainment Business Case Analysis (SBCA) framework and Sustainment Initiative (SI) pillars of Performance, Flexibility, Value for Money and Economic Benefits. The contract secures L3 MAS as the government’s CC-150 support contractor up to March 2023, with eligibility for additional years (up to March 2028), subject to satisfactory performance. The work will be carried out at the customer’s operating base in Trenton, Ontario, and at L3 MAS in Mirabel, Quebec.

“We are honored to obtain this contract extension from the Canadian government to support the CC-150 Polaris aircraft fleet,” said Jacques Comtois, Vice President and General Manager of L3 MAS. “Since our first CC-150 contract award, the L3 MAS team has worked hard to provide DND with best-value sustainment support on this strategic fleet consistent with their contracting objectives and philosophy. Our contract to support this platform is a testament to our past performance and our commitment to customer focus, flawless execution and long-term partnerships as Canada’s premier military aircraft ISS provider.”

The CC-150 Polaris fleet is used by the government for such high-profile missions as VIP transportation and strategic air-to-air refueling, as well as passenger, freight and medical evacuation transportation. As the prime contractor, L3 MAS is providing overall program management, material management and engineering support services, as well as line and heavy maintenance support and component maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services.
