Export Quebec in collaboration with the Canadian Embassy in Singapore would like to invite Quebec firms related to the aerospace and defense/security industries to join the Quebec Pavilion at the Singapore Airshow 2016 (Singapore Air Show Website). Participation in the show includes support identifying and arranging business meetings with potential buyers, decision-makers and strategic partners, logistics and advisory support throughout the mission with the help of Export Quebec representative and the Canadian Embassy in Singapore. Following the Airshow, a business mission to Malaysia (TBC) is included, offering the opportunity to meet with key players in the industry over the course of a tailored two day business development program in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

About the show

Singapore Airshow 2016 is Asia’s largest and one of the most important Aerospace and Defense event in the world. The event features two high level conferences, namely the Singapore Airshow Aviation Leadership Summit, and the Asia Pacific Security conference which attracted an unprecedented network of international governments, commercial and military delegates. The other strategic conference to be held during the week is the A*STAR Aerospace Technology Leadership forum. In the 2016, the event will also be featuring three special zones within the exhibition site, namely the Aerospace Emerging Technologies Zone, the Business Aviation Zone, and the Training and Simulation Zone.

Singapore Airshow 2014 saw 1018 participating companies from 47 countries, 45,152 trade attendees from 125 countries, 274 delegations from 76 countries, and regions. US$32 billion worth of deals were announced. ASEAN, Asia, Asia Pacific and global decision makers, key influencers and clients are expected to participate in Singapore Airshow 2016.

Background

The Southeast Asia is one of the world’s fastest growing, diverse and dynamic regions. The 10 member countries of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) have a combined population of 625 million and a collective GDP of US$ 2.4 trillion. The Southeast Asia continues enjoy the fastest growth in the commercial and defense aviation arenas. ASEAN’s growth and development has increased demand for air travel, investment into airlines, as well as the supporting infrastructure.

China is the world's second largest aviation market in the word after the United States. China accounts for 30.9% of the aerospace industry in Asia Pacific. The market value is expected to reach US$52 billion over the next few years. With a huge domestic aviation market, a national supply still limited both in quality and quantity, China has many attractive features as a key partner in aviation industry.

Cost & benefits

The cost to participate is C$784 plus tax. Other expense (flights, hotels, meal) are covered by participants. This package includes:
