THE QUÉBEC-NEW ENGLAND AEROSPACE CORRIDOR TAKES SHAPE FOR THE BENEFIT OF ALL SMEs

Essex Junction (Vermont), September 26, 2019 – During the 2019 Vermont Manufacturing Summit, Aéro Montréal, Québec’s aerospace cluster, wants to reaffirm the importance of establishing the Québec-New England Aerospace Corridor.

In 2013, Aéro Montréal signed a framework agreement with the Vermont Aerospace & Aviation Association, a division of the Vermont Chamber of Commerce. This agreement aimed to foster special relationships between our aerospace clusters, to increase the exchange of information on local and international collaborative projects, and to ensure the monitoring of international developments.

This initiative is part of a larger plan to create a Québec-New England Corridor that will eventually include other states with aerospace industries whose supply chains are often interconnected with Québec’s, such as Massachusetts, Connecticut, Maine, New Hampshire and Rhode Island.

“With a signing of the Memorandum of Understanding, the official extension of the Vermont - Québec Aerospace Trade Corridor to Connecticut is transforming our region into a Supply Chain Hub. Through inter-clustering and supply chain integration, the Corridor is optimizing global supply chains by providing our companies and northern neighbours with access to new markets, innovations, contacts and new business opportunities in the aerospace industry.”

Chris Carrigan, Vice President, Vermont Chamber of Commerce

“The Aerospace Components Manufacturers (ACM) is excited to partner with The Vermont Chamber of Commerce’s Vermont Aerospace & Aviation Association and Aéro Montreal in the signing of the extended MOU adding the ACM as a party to the MOU. We all share a strong belief in business and supply chain expansion by creating additional contacts and new business opportunities for mutual benefit. The ACM is committed to competitive collaboration and welcomes this signing.”
