HALBERG DESIGN AND PCM INNOVATION® JOIN FORCES TO SERVE THE AEROSPACE INDUSTRY
PCM INNOVATION announces today the acquisition of Halberg Design Inc. and its merger with its PCM Innovation Montréal Inc. division. The transaction also includes Halberg Design Corp., a U.S. company based in West Virginia.
PCM INNOVATION is a leader and integrator in engineering and tooling solutions for the industry. The company offers assembly lines, manufacturing fixtures, molds for advanced composites and prototypes or short-run production parts. Its customers operate mainly in the aviation and space sectors, and also in the transportation and energy fields.
Halberg Design is an industrial design and engineering company specializing in tools for the aerospace industry, in particular aircraft engines and landing gears.
Merging the proven capabilities of both companies will ensure that we are better suited to serve Quebec’s aerospace industry with a Montreal office that includes more than 50 engineers and designers working in teams specialized in aerostructure, aeroengines, satellite systems and advanced composites parts.
Marc Hallée, President and Founder of Halberg Design, will continue to be associated with the company as a Senior Director in the new entity. He explains his decision as follows: “The aerospace market is rapidly expanding internationally and the major customers are now looking for integrated suppliers that have a greater capacity to take charge of large-scale projects. Associating ourselves with PCM INNOVATION will give us the critical size needed to ensure the long-term viability and growth of the company that I founded 28 years ago.”
Jean-Francois Hamel, President and CEO of PCM INNOVATION, underscores the positive impact of the transaction: “The merger of these two engineering and design teams’ strengths in Montreal, added to the manufacturing capacity of the Sainte-Claire plant near Quebec City, solidifies our Canadian leadership position in industrial tooling for the aerospace industry. Moreover, the addition of the U.S. entity opens the first door to our international expansion, which will be the logical next step in our business plan.”
Fonds de solidarité FTQ and Fonds régionaux de solidarité FTQ Chaudière-Appalaches are investing in PCM to support growth. « With this acquisition, PCM INNOVATION strengthens its position in the aerospace sector. Therefore, the Ste-Claire based engineering and tooling company will be capable to respond to the ever growing needs of the industry», as declared by Jean Wilhelmy, Senior Vice-president, Aerospace, construction and services of Fonds de solidarité FTQ, and Jean Roy, Executive director of Fonds régionaux de solidarité FTQ Chaudière—Appalaches.
