Mr. Désilets holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from École Polytechnique de Montréal and subsequently obtained an MBA from École des hautes études commerciales. He became Director of École nationale d'aérotechnique (ÉNA) in January 2019 after 16 years as Director General of the Centre technologique en aérospatiale (CTA), affiliated with ÉNA. Previously, he worked at Mécanica Solutions as a project manager and specialist in computer-aided design and manufacturing, where he carried out several mandates for Bombardier Aerospace, Pratt & Whitney Canada, the Institute for Aerospace Research at the National Research Council of Canada (NRC), Snecma and Ferrari. Under his leadership, the CTA increased its revenues tenfold while investing more than $20 million in research infrastructure for composite materials, avionics, metrology, robotics, flight operations and metal fabrication, which earned it the Gold Level Leadership Award from Colleges and Institutes Canada (CiCAN). Mr. Désilets is also a member of the Board of Directors of Aéro Montréal.
