ATAG, the Air Transport Action Group is a platform for commercial aviation to work together on long-term sustainability issues. Haldane Dodd, ATAG Acting Executive Director, will illustrate the effects of the 2020 Covid-19 pandemic on the global air transport sector and discuss the Waypoint 2050 report, which explores how the sector will meet net-zero CO2 emissions by 2050, with the support of governments and the energy industry.

This panel will exchange on the importance of sustainable aviation fuels (in its various forms) in bridging the gap to decarbonisation of the aviation industry. To do so, representatives of a cross section of the transportation value chain including a SAF producer, an engine manufacturer, an airline and transportation policy decision makers from the US and Canada will share perspectives on the industrial and economic prospects of SAF and the key initiatives to facilitate and accelerate its commercialisation and proliferation.
