Back to ListFollowing the new call for forming innovation micro-nets made by the Department of National Defence and the Canadian Armed Forces, in the context of the IDEaS Program, the CRIAQ and Aéro Montréal invite you to participate to a networking workshop that aims at facilitating the formation of micro-nets and offering support for those who wish to prepare research projects.
This workshop will take place on the 21st of August from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM in Montreal Downtown (address to be confirmed).
In short:
- Objective: The IDEaS Program supports the establishment of new Innovation Networks to encourage, enhance, sustain and support interdisciplinary research collaborations between academia, the for-profit and not-for-profit sectors, to build a critical mass of expertise and knowledge applicable to the defence and security of Canada;
- Research Themes for this call:
- Trust and confidence in autonomous systems
- Understanding joint cognitive systems and human-machine teaming;
- Robustness and reliability of autonomous systems in degraded environments
- Adoption strategies of autonomous systems, including integration within larger systems
- Proposals of defence and security-related tasks and concepts that could benefit from autonomous systems
- Funding and partnership:
- Minimum partnership : 5 researchers from at least 3 different organisations ;
- Lead : Universities ;
- Max readiness level: 6
- Funding ratio : 100% of eligible expenses for universities and companies under 10 employees (50 to 75% for the others)
- Maximum amount per proposal: 1 500 000 $;
- Duration of contribution: up to 36 months ;
- LOI application deadline : 31st of August 2018.

This event gives you the opportunity to identify projects and principal investigators that might interest you, as well as form a micro-net.
