Aerospace innovation Forum 2011

Nearly 700 aerospace industry professionals from all over the world came together on December 5 and 6 for the third edition of the Aerospace Innovation Forum, organized by Aéro Montréal in collaboration with CRIAQ.

Engineers, researchers, and professionals from the aerospace industry, research centres, associations and government agencies all gathered at the Palais des congrès de Montréal for the Forum, the biggest event of its kind in Canada. Sixty-four speakers, including Sam Hamad, the Quebec Minister of Economic Development, Innovation and Export Trade, and the Honourable Christian Paradis, federal Minister of Industry, shared their knowledge on the theme of Innovation in a sustainable supply chain : a global challenge. Their presentations touched on topics such as innovation challenges for tier 1 players, the harmonization of innovation initiatives, and end of life management of aircraft.

Besides attending  the many plenaries and workshops spread throughout the two-day event, participants could visit the Exhibitors’ Trade Show Room, where 53 compagnies showed off the latest innovative techniques. Many also took advantage of the networking opportunities created by the B2B technological meetings, which facilitated  more than 450  meetings took place over the two days, and the Trade Commissioners Service Business Lounge (DFAIT).

Selected presentations made by the speakers will be available as of early January, while a white paper will be published in December 2012.

Aéro Montréal would like to extend our sincere thanks to all collaborators and participants that have helped make this event a success. The next edition of the Aerospace Innovation Forum takes place on December 2-4, 2013 at the Palais de congrès de Montréal. Save the dates and don’t forget to keep an eye out for updates from Aéro Montréal’s website andTwitter feed so as to not miss the opportunity to attend the next Aerospace Innovation Forum.
